If those “lyrics” seem familiar, then you know the rest of that song – the theme to The Addams Family. And if you liked that show, you should like the Cedar Cliff High School spring musical, The Addams Family, being performed March 14-16 at 7 p.m. and March 17 at 2 p.m. This 2-Act musical features music and lyrics by Andrew Lippa and comes from the book by Marshall Brickman and Rick Elice.
According to director Matthew Topping, “The show is set to be the most impressive productions to ever hit the Cedar Cliff Stage. This show is going to be a beautiful homage to the hilarious family that we all know and love.”
Based on Charles Addams' comic strip The Addams Family, the plot centers around daughter Wednesday Addams falling in love with a young man, Lucas Beineke, who is from a seemingly normal family, which causes gloom and dismay for the Addams family. When the Beinecke family comes to meet the Addams Family, things get interesting.
The cast includes Gomez (Andrew Schlegel); Morticia (Nevina Frese); Wednesday (Gia Koutsokostas); Fester (Colten Burr); Pugsley (Andrew Wickenheiser); Lucas Beineke (Eliah Houck); Mal Beineke (AJ Frownfelter); Alice Beineke (Lilliane Campbell); Grandmama (Sarah Sheaffer); Lurch (Emanuel Rios); Cousin Itt (Lauren Giovagnoli); and Thing (Alex McQuade).
The Addams Family also ran as a TV series of 64 episodes from September 18, 1964 to April 8, 1966.
