On February 13th the Mineola School District hosted its annual String Night. Unlike the concerts held for each grade throughout the year, String Night focuses on the orchestra and brings together musicians from both the Middle School and the High School.
This year’s theme was Latin Music, and featured songs like “Hot Hot Hot” and “America” from West Side Story. The night opened with the 11-12 orchestra playing the National Anthem. Additionally, they performed “See You Again” by Wiz Khalifa as a tribute to Christian Melendez. Each group went on stage one by one and played there prepared songs, some featuring drums and live singers.
The concert in its entirety is posted online on the Mineola Fine Arts YouTube page (linked here).
