The weekend of March 23rd, the MHS Drama Club presented the classic, The Pajama Game. Set in the 1950s, the show tells the story of the workers and management at the Sleep Tite pajama factory and their labor dispute over a 7 1/2 cent raise. Babe Williams and Sid Sorokin are on different sides, but that doesn’t stop them from falling in love. There were stunning performances from Jake Lenze, Sarah Harty, Nathan Bischoff, Katrine Gulinao, Sarah Carbain, Miguel Velasquez, Robert Shevlin, and Isabella Posada. And the featured dancers, led by David Fernandez and Sofia Pereira were magnificent. The high energy numbers brought roars of applause because of the dazzling singing and dancing by the ensemble and the incredible talents of the pit orchestra. Keira Talty said the show was great and every scene was different. She was especially impressed with Jake Lenze as Sid, and Aulona Kabashi said that Gladys, played by Katrine Gulinao, was her favorite. Under the direction of Mr. DeLuca, the show was a huge hit. Next up for the Drama Club is the 8-9 musical The Addams Family on May 4th and May 5th.
