Every January, as seniors anxiously await college decisions and juniors begin to think about their Common App, Mineola High School invites alumni from the previous year to share their freshman year experience. While usually alum stand in front of the classroom, COVID-19 required a more creative solution. Mineola teachers and faculty showed off their college merch and in all junior and senior classes, guidance counselors host Kahoot games with important college terminology. After, they shared previously recorded videos from students from the class of 2020 who discussed being on campus, being virtual, and not going to college at all. After school, guidance hosted a Q&A for seniors who applied to Boston College with two students from the class of 2019.
