Calling all Halloween Fanatics!
The Mini-THON Club is holding a Halloween Costume Challenge this year! In the spirit of Covid 2020, there will be a little twist. Instead of YOU picking your own Halloween Costume to wear to school, you can now sign up to have another student or staff member bid on you. The student or staff member who places the highest bid will provide the volunteer with a Halloween costume to wear to school on Friday October 30th. All costumes must be approved by the club advisors (Mrs. Socie and Mr. Martin).
If you wish to volunteer to wear a costume, sign-ups can be found in the Ephrata Mini-THON Instagram Bio or you may use the QR code posted on the Mini-THON bulletin board outside of Mrs. Socies room 317. Sign-ups will run until Monday October 19th at 3:00 PM. There will be 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place prizes given out on Monday November 2nd to the “Best Dressed” Costumes! All monies raised to benefit the Four Diamonds Fund and its fight against pediatric cancer.
Good luck- now let’s get spooky!

NEWS INTRO

In today's news, Japan is going to release treated radioactive water from the destroyed Fukushima nuclear plant into the sea. The dumping of the radioactive liquid would start in 2022 at the earliest. There has been a lot of debate on what they should do with this liquid after the nuclear power plant was hit by a tsunami in 2011. Scientists say the risk is very low, but the environmental and fishing groups oppose the idea. The government says that no final decision has been made yet.
