Dear COVID-19:

I have so many questions for you but the fact you are unable to speak makes it worse. What have we done to deserve this? The class of 2020 may not get its graduation ceremony despite working for this their entire life. Graduation was supposed to be the light at the end of the tunnel for them. This was supposed to be their final moment of closure from the never-ending loop that is school.  But you took that away from them. The class of 2020 like every class before them and every class after them deserves a graduation ceremony. A day that makes them feel that they are the most important people in the world. They have been dreaming of this day since they entered Columbus High as freshmen.

Now High School aside, numerous people are losing or have lost their jobs. There are countless people who are living paycheck to paycheck and are struggling to support their families. Those people have lost their jobs and aren’t even getting paid a dime. Those people who have worked their entire lives to make sure their families can live comfortably are now suffering because of you. The paycheck to paycheck those individuals were living from is now gone and those individuals can no longer afford to care for their family.

Now, what about the children who’s only source of food was school lunch? What about the children who live in abusive households? What will happen to them? Who will care for the children who have no means to protect themselves? 

No one deserves the amount of suffering you have brought.
