HACC and the Lancaster County Workforce Development Board have partnered this year to provide a Health Careers Exploration Day which will be held at HACC’s Lancaster Campus on Friday, March 27, 2020, 8:30-11:30AM. This annual event is designed for high school students who are truly interested in pursuing a career in healthcare. Often students are not aware of the many different career opportunities that are available to them in the world of healthcare. This program will allow your students to learn about various health-related careers including:
Cardio-Vascular Technology – both Sonography and Invasive – what are the differences?
Medical Laboratory Technology
Nursing - both LPN and RN
Radiologic Technology and Radiology Informatics – what are the differences and how do they work together?
Surgical Technology
and more!
Students will be provided opportunities to participate in interactive demonstrations in HACC’s state-of-the-art labs and also meet with many local healthcare employers during this event! Permission slips are available in the counseling office or in school. The deadline is March 13th!

NEWS INTRO VIDEO

In today’s news, the Chinese coronavirus scare has sent the world economy into shock, as the Dow Jones has dropped an astonishing 1,000 points, the worst it’s been in two years. Nearly 79,000 people have been infected by the virus, with cases being discovered and treated nearly worldwide. Airline and cruise line company share prices are dropping almost 9-10% each. However, it's important to note that most of these drops are created out of anxiety of the growth of the virus, as many are still unsure of the impact the virus may have in coming months.
On this day in history in 1964, a young Muhammad Ali wins his first world heavyweight championship. His opponent, Sonny Liston, was one of the most feared fighters to step into the ring with, but still Ali famously boasted he would “float like a butterfly, and sting like a bee” and come out on top”. Ali would go on to become one of the greatest sporting figures of all time, as much for his social and political influence as his prowess in boxing.
