NEWS INTRO VIDEO

In today's news, we have an update on the coronavirus inflicting China. The country has closed off the city of Wuhan in an unprecedented effort to contain the sickness before the Lunar New Year air traffic rush. Bustling airports and train stations now stand empty, guarded by police officers and SWAT teams. The World Health Organization will meet again today to discuss a possible international response to the virus given its possible risk to other countries.
On this day in history in 1957, the first Frisbees are produced and sold. Toy company Wham-O hoped to cash in on the 50s UFO craze that was prominent in America at the time, and in doing so they created one of the most iconic throwing toys of all time. Fun fact, the creator of Frisbees, Walter Morrison, would have his ashes infused into a Frisbee upon death.

Hey Ephrata! Valentine’s Day is just around the corner.
Do you want to show someone you care, but don’t know how to express it (or you just want to embarrass your friend?) Look no further! The Ephrata High School Theatre Department proudly presents Valentine’s Day Singing Telegrams!
When a text message or a letter simply won’t cut it, send a singing telegram! You can select a song from the categories:
Friendship
Love Interest
Heartbreak for just $3
If you are the creative type, it is just $5 for a personalized (state 5 things about the recipient) and have it sung as a ballad or uptempo.
Singing telegrams will be available to purchase during all lunch periods on January 23, 24, 28, and 30. So fill out a form at the table…just know the recipient’s name, homeroom, and current lunch period.
All singing telegrams will be delivered during lunch periods on Thursday, February 13 by the theatre students.
Stop by and check out the Singing Telegram Table this week and next! The EHS Theatre students cannot wait to sing for you!
All proceeds go to the EHS Theatre Program.

Attention all Ephrata Students:
We are changing things up this year!
For our kickoff assembly for our Mini-THON this year we are having a ‘Two part’ event. During Mountaineer Block on January 29th we will be holding an assembly for all students in which the boys will be doing a group dance.
Later that evening, we will be holding a ‘Diamonds in the Rough’ event showcasing all of their individual talents. (To see these talents you must come to the event in the evening. We will not be showing these during the school assembly) This event will be from 6-8 pm in the High School Auditorium. The suggested minimum donation fee is $5 for students and $8 for adults.
Come out for a fun filled night to see who will be crowned King? From 1/21 to 1/27 you can raise money for each individual by putting money in their bins during your lunch which will go toward their grand total and help them compete to be the top fundraiser.
----------------------------
Have a great day Ephrata!
