NEWS INTRO VIDEO

In today’s news, nearly 4,000 Californian Kaiser mental health professionals went on strike on Monday and will be on strike for the next few days. This strike as come as a reaction to the severe under-staffing of Kaiser mental health facilities and how it can cause workers to work past work hours in order to help people, as well as causing many patients to have to wait two months or more for a follow up appointment. Many of these health professionals are saying that conditions like these are making the mental health crisis in America worse.
On this day in history in 1620, the Mayflower landed in Plymouth. After a grueling four month journey, 102 pilgrims successfully made their way to America to escape the religious tensions in Europe. Although the pilgrims landed with reasonable success, the following winter would be brutal for the pilgrims, and only 50 out of the original 102 would survive.
