This announcement is for all freshmen: Individual Freshmen Transition meetings with your counselor begin on Friday, October 18th. Meetings are 10 minutes each and will focus on; a discussion about 1st semester classes, a reflection on your transition to EHS, as well as a conversation about possible future career directions. Please go the counseling website to sign up for a time slot for your meeting. You can also get there by using the link for the signup page found on your Schoology newsfeed as well. Be sure to select a date and time that works best for your schedule – if you have a study hall, that would be the ideal period for this meeting. Now is the perfect time to open your laptop and sign up for a time slot for your meeting – don’t delay!

In today’s news, Israeli scientists have grown the first lab-grown meat aboard the International Space Station. 288 miles above the Earth’s surface, this method of growing meat is said to be able to support a rapidly growing population by as nearly as 2050.
On this day in history in 1868, the first war for Cuban Independence began. As Spain ruled over the colony of Cuba, revolutionary efforts began for economic and social change. This war, and subsequent Cuban independence efforts would spark the Spanish - American War, a fundamental war that shaped American foreign policy for decades to come
