At the ripe age of 5,
I’d see dinosaurs and princesses flying up above.
I’d be happier than anything
as my friends and I would fire debates.
“It’s obviously a turtle wearing a bow tie!”
“No, it’s a snake reading a book!”
I saw a bird driving a car.
With my first boyfriend,
observing the sky.
Being the typical cliche couple.
Seeing hearts dotting the blue field up above.
Those hearts, and mine would be washed away in the wind
Spiraling down,
the sky being foreign
My blinds always closed
But if I turned my gaze up,
the clouds would probably be black
blocking out the light
But then I met you
You cleared the sky of those stormy clouds
You revealed the blue fields above once again
Revealed the beaming Sun I blocked out for so long
Never have the rays on my skin felt so reviving
The clouds reappeared
Shapes forming with a new love
A new experiment turned relationship
It´s not a cookie-cutter shape,
but love is love,
and everyone sees the clouds in a different way.
