On this day in 1964 The Ford Mustang, a two-seat, mid-engine sports car, is officially unveiled by Henry Ford II at the World’s Fair in Flushing Meadows, New York, on April 17, 1964. That same day, the new car also debuted in Ford showrooms across America and almost 22,000 Mustangs were immediately snapped up by buyers. Named for a World War II fighter plane, the Mustang was the first of a type of vehicle that came to be known as a “pony car.” Ford sold more than 400,000 Mustangs within its first year of production, far exceeding sales expectations.

Throughout high school Joel has been involved in many things such as FFA, shooting with the Palmyra Rifle Team, ushering and leading music at my church, and other activities. The charity he is raising money for is called The Joseph Project. This charity provides humanitarian aid for people in Israel, where the poverty rate is very high. They help supply food, clothing, furniture, and other necessities for people. His future plans include majoring in finance at Ohio State and hopefully becoming a financial planner.
Ricky Bromirski is also in contention to win the title of Mr. Cottontail. During his time at Ephrata high school, he participated in NHS, Leo club, prom committee, and athletics such as baseball and basketball. Next year he plans to attend East Stroudsburg University to major in early childhood education. He chose make a wish as his charity to support because he has a strong passion for helping kids.
Elias Long is a captain of the Ephrata boys volleyball team. He has also been a part of the minithon club for 4 years, which is why he chose the Four Diamond Foundation as his charity. He will be attending the University of Scranton next year studying Criminal Justice.
Michael Storb has participated in NHS, Link Crew, Prom Committee, Ski Club, Golf Team, Tennis team, and baseball team. Next year he will be attending Temple University to study biochemistry. He choose the Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund because it goes to helping communities in the Republic of Congo and Rwanda and as a result prevents the poaching of gorillas.
