NEWS INTRO VIDEO

Canada intends to change the law to make it harder for asylum seekers rejected by countries like the US to file refugee claims at the border. The move comes as thousands of asylum seekers have crossed the border after their claims were rejected in the US. Amendments were introduced on Monday evening in the Liberal government's 392-page omnibus budget bill. An influx of asylum seekers crossing at the US-Canada border has become a hot button political issue. The law would allow immigration officers at the border to reject refugee claims if the asylum seeker has already made a claim in another country that has an immigration information-sharing agreement with Canada.
In other news,
Dick Cole, the last veteran of a World War Two bombing raid on Japan in retaliation for the attack on Pearl Harbor, has died. He was 103 years old. The famed Doolittle raid was named for then Lt Col Jimmy Doolittle, who led the first US strikes against Japan during the war in 1942. Retired Lt Cole was Lt Col Doolittle's co-pilot in the lead plane. The raid, which included 16 B-25 bombers and 80 crew members, helped boost morale after Pearl Harbor.
Tiger Woods wins his fourth Masters Golf Tournament at Augusta National Golf Club after a 15-foot birdie on the first hole of the sudden-death playoff against Chris DiMarco on April 10, 2005. The victory was Woods’ ninth major championship on the PGA tour.
