What is a promise? Is it something you can touch? No. Is it something you can see? No.  A promise is more than a material object. A promise is a joining between to people. Two friends who promised they would have each other throw thick and thin. Two enemies who have promised to hate and despise each other to the end of the world. Between a couple who promised themselves, they would be together forever. A friend who promised to be there for the most important day of his friend's life. The day she put her self on the line of judgment. But he wasn't there. the two friends secretly wished the other would end their friendship. The enemies wishing they could stop hating each other long enough to know they have more in common. the couple not loving each other after being forced together to make their parents happy. All of them, the friends, the enemies, the couple, wondering if it was worth the trouble they were going through just to keep a promise. Then there was the girl left by her friend whom she thought would be right behind her hugging her as she won the first place prize. Hoping the friend she took so much time to warm u to would be there. But he wasn't there for her. Instead of hugging in first, she was hanging her head in last. Instead of celebrating with her friends she was alone crying to herself. She was so afraid of being hurt she never wanted to let anyone in again.  She made too many promises.
