Facebook has said it will block "praise, support and representation of white nationalism and separatism" on Facebook and Instagram from next week. The social media giant also pledged to improve its ability to identify and block material from terrorist groups. Facebook users searching for offending terms will be directed to a charity which combats far-right extremism. The social network has come under pressure after a man livestreamed an attack on two mosques in New Zealand. Facebook had previously allowed some white nationalist content it did not view as racist - including permission for users to call for the creation of white ethno-states.
In other news,
Vice-President Mike Pence has said he wants Nasa to return astronauts to the Moon within five years. Referencing China's recent successful robotic mission to the far side, he said: "We're in a space race today, just as we were in the 1960s." Nasa had already been planning to return to the Moon, but Pence's announcement accelerates the timeline. He was speaking at a meeting of the National Space Council in Huntsville, Alabama
On this day in 1969 Dwight D. Eisenhower, the 34th president of the United States and one of the most highly regarded American generals of World War II, dies in Washington, D.C., at the age of 78.

PERSON 1: Attention Students of Ephrata High School: If you are interested in running for student council, please stop down to Mr. Marzock’s room and pick up your petition.
PERSON 2: ONLY 6 members are selected to become representatives of student council per grade to represent our student body.
PERSON 1: And since you represent our school and student body, we will need to hold elections for those positions.
PERSON 2: To qualify, you will need to stop down and pick up your petition from Mr. Marzock in room 137.
PERSON 1: You will need to collect 25 signatures from students in your grade only or your petition will be void.

PERSON 1: But, you can’t ask Mr. Marzock or Mrs. Eshleman because they are the Student Council Advisors.
PERSON 2: Finally, a list of all eligible students running to be representatives will be sent out to the faculty for one last look-see. Just to make sure all said students running are within good standing at the high school.
PERSON 1: And if everything goes well, which it probably will, elections will be held during advisory on Friday April 12th.
PERSON 2: That means voting people!
PERSON 1: So stop down to see Mr. Marzock and get your petitions and teacher recommendation turned in by TUESDAY APRIL 9th.
