Mar. 21, 2019 was National Poetry Day. William Sieghart started National Poetry Day as a way to promote the writing and reading of poems in 1994. Sieghart wanted to make sure poets got the recognition they deserved. He thought making National Poetry Day would help with that.
Check out some of these famous poems to celebrate!
- The Road Not Taken by Robert Frost
- Phenomenal Woman by Maya Angelou
- Romance by Edgar Allan Poe
- Where the Sidewalk Ends by Shel Silverstein
Happy National Poetry Day!
