This announcement is for any students who would like to learn more about the United States Naval Academy as a post-secondary college option. There will be a bus trip to visit the Academy, which is located in Annapolis Maryland on Saturday March 30th. The purpose of this trip is to give interested students and their parents an opportunity to see the Academy first hand, learn about the application/appointment process, and meet with local area high school graduates who are presently midshipmen at the Academy. If you have an interest in serving your country as an officer, this is a great way to attend college for free, as a degree from the Academy is estimated to be worth approximately $400,000 for the four year program.
Check out the information sheet on Schoology if you would like to learn more!

New Zealand Prime Minister Jacinda Ardern has said she will announce detailed gun law reforms within days, after an attack on two mosques left 50 people dead. Ardern said her cabinet had backed gun law changes "in principle". Australian Brenton Tarrant, 28, a self-described white supremacist, has been charged with murder. Police say the killer used military-style assault weapons modified to make them more deadly for the attack - all of which is legal under current laws.
In other news,
Cyclone Idai has had a "massive and horrifying" impact on Mozambique's port city of Beira, the Red Cross says. It made landfall on Thursday with winds of up to 106 mph, but aid teams only reached Beira on Sunday. Sources were told people have been rescued from trees, homes destroyed and roofs ripped off concrete buildings, by head of the Red Cross assessment team, Jamie LeSeur.
