This announcement is for any students who would like to learn more about the United States Naval Academy as a post-secondary college option.  There will be a bus trip to visit the Academy, which is located in Annapolis Maryland on Saturday March 30th.  The  purpose of this trip is to give interested students and their parents an opportunity to see the Academy first hand, learn about the application/appointment process, and meet with local area high school graduates who are presently midshipmen at the Academy.  If you have an interest in serving your country as an officer, this is a great way to attend college for free, as a degree from the Academy is estimated to be worth approximately $400,000 for the four year program.

Boeing has grounded its entire global fleet of 737 Max aircraft after investigators uncovered new evidence at the scene of the fatal Ethiopian Airlines crash. The US plane-maker said it would suspend all 371 of the aircraft. The Federal Aviation Administration said fresh evidence as well as newly refined satellite data prompted the decision to temporarily ban the jets. The FAA had previously held out while many countries banned the aircraft.

In other news,

Evidence of large-scale prehistoric feasting rituals found at Stonehenge could be the earliest mass celebrations in Britain, say archaeologists. The study examined 131 pigs' bones at four Late Neolithic sites, Durrington Walls, Marden, Mount Pleasant and West Kennet Palisade Enclosures. The sites, which served Stonehenge and Avebury, hosted the feasts. Researchers think guests had to bring meat raised locally to them, resulting in pigs arriving from distant places

The Lancaster County Workforce Development Board’s Youth Council is excited to present the 2019 Health Careers Expo.  The event is scheduled to take place on Wednesday March 27, 2019. The event is being held at the PA College of Health Sciences. We are excited to add a new activity to the event this year, an Immersive Experience via IMAX technology. Students will be able to guide the experience using remotes.  If you are interested in attending this event, please stop down to guidance and pick up a permission form.  Permission forms are due by 3/18/19.

A reminder to all students currently enrolled in AP courses:  Tomorrow, Friday, March 15th is the deadline to register for this year’s AP exams.  If you are interested, be sure to see your AP teacher or stop by the Counseling Office for an exam order form and AP Student Bulletin ASAP.  If we do not have this form and your $15 deposit for each exam that you are planning on taking by the end of the day on Friday, we cannot order an exam form for you. 

If you have questions, please make an appointment to see your counselor through Mrs. Ditzler right away.
