Students are reminded that this Thursday, January 31st, is the last day to drop a course without receiving a WF (withdrew failing) mark.  Course add/drop forms are available on the EHS Counseling webpage and require a parent signature, so don’t delay.  A listing of open classes is updated daily and is available on the website as well.

If you have any questions, please see your counselor ASAP.

This important announcement is for any senior whose prospective college requires a mid-year transcript.  While the majority of colleges do not require these, you should double check to see if your school needs an updated transcript.  If so, login to Naviance to request one ASAP.  There are very specific instructions on how to request this on the opening screen in Naviance.  You will also find these instructions in Schoology updates, as well as in the Class of 2019 Resources folder in Schoology. 

If you have any questions, stop by the counseling office to check with Mrs. Ditzler.

Chinese telecoms giant Huawei has denied any wrongdoing after US prosecutors filed a host of criminal charges against the firm. Huawei has also rejected criminal claims against its chief financial officer Meng Wanzhou, who was arrested in Canada last month. The charges filed against Huawei in the USinclude bank fraud, obstruction of justice and theft of technology. The case could escalate tensions between China and the US.

In other news,

The US icebreaker Nathaniel B Palmer leaves Punta Arenas in Chile on Tuesday to begin an expedition to Antarctica's Thwaites Glacier. The huge ice stream in West Antarctica is currently melting, and scientists want to understand its likely future contribution to sea-level rise. If all of Thwaites' frozen bulk were to give way, it would add 80cm to the height of the world's oceans.
