Last Chance to check the Lost and Found Table!

If you are missing items please check the lost and found tables in the front lobby TODAY, any items left on the table as of the end of the school day TODAY will be discarded. NO EXCEPTIONS.----------------------------

Anyone that has anything in a PE locker without a school issued lock on the locker will have ALL items removed on Monday.  So please take all items home or they will be donated or discarded.

Ephrata Mini-THON’s Valentines Dance is coming up February 9th. Although the dance this year is not being named Sadie’s, girls can still ask guys!

Remember anyone can come even if you have a date or not. So, bring a friend or a date to the Valentines Dance in support of childhood cancer! Ticket sales will be held in the cafeteria from February 4th to the 8th for $8 and $10 at the door.

The Ephrata Chess team was defeated in a close match again Lancaster Mennonite on Wednesday.  They tied on the boards played, 2-2, but lost due to having to forfeit on board 5. Zeke Jones won on board 1 and Ian Dissinger won on board 2.   Next week the team travels to Warwick on Tuesday and Country Day on Thursday.

US Democratic politicians say they will investigate allegations that President Trump directed his long-time personal lawyer to lie to Congress. A News report alleges Trump directed Michael Cohen to lie about plans to build a Trump Tower in Moscow. Cohen has already admitted to lying about when the business project ended. Trump has not yet responded directly to the report's allegations - but he has previously denied ever directing his former lawyer to break the law.

In other news,

Australia has just sweltered through at least five of its 10 warmest days on record, authorities estimate. An extreme heatwave has afflicted the nation since Saturday, causing wildlife deaths, bushfires and an increase in hospital admissions. Australia's Bureau of Meteorology said preliminary readings showed daily national temperature highs of 104°F. The town of Noona in New South Wales meanwhile recorded a night-time temperature of 96°F.

On January 18, 1958, hockey player Willie O’Ree of the Boston Bruins took to the ice for a game against the Montreal Canadiens, becoming the first black player in the National Hockey League (NHL)

Spring Sports Physicals will be offered on Wednesday, February 6, 2019 in the Ephrata High School Gym Starting at 5:30pm.  All High School and Middle School Athletes in need of a physical examination prior to the Spring Sports Season should see Mrs. Cummings in the High School Athletic Office to sign-up or have a parent call her at (717)721-1478, extension 19021. You must sign-up for an available timeslot in order to see a doctor for a physical examination on February 6th.  The cost for the physical examination is $5.00.    The Physical Packet must be filled out and signed by both the Student and the Parent and you must bring this packet along to the physical examination. Physical Packets are available in the Athletic Office and on the District Website.

There has been a permanent change to the cafe menu to honor one of the most amazing teachers to ever walk the face of Ephrata High school. In honor of Mr. Bomberger’s last day , he has been give the tremendous glory of having his name live on in Ephrata History by having a Sandwich named after him.

In the cafe today, and each time it appears from here on out on the menu, we will be having a chicken sandwich topped with cheese and mozzarella sticks called........ the Cheesy Chicken Mountaineer Bomberger! 

Mr Bomberger, your name shall live on in these fine halls, and in every child’s stomachs forever and ever! Enjoy your retirement. You will be missed!
