My Personal Credo: Never Talk Bad About The Diva

Never Talk Bad About The Diva:

I believe that you should never talk about about the diva. I have done theatre for most of my life, it is what makes me happy. All different kinds of people do theatre: the shy, the bold, the new, the old, and in every show, the diva. I have encountered many divas in my theatre life and if there is one thing that divas have taught me, its to never talk about about them.

Theatre divas are some of the worst people you will ever meet, they are selfish and unkind, but they are so talented that you can’t kick them out of the show, and they use that to their advantage. Theatre people are some of the nicest people you will ever meet, but they have their flaws, too. They tend to get upset about things very easily, especially when that thing is getting in the way of their amazing production. That is when people start talking behind the divas back, and they find out. I have been guilty of doing it myself, I don’t mean to, but overtime, I learned to never talk bad about the diva.

All people have feelings, even divas. Underneath all of their confidence, there is a vulnerable star inside just wanting people's approval. Treating them with kindness makes them feel wanted, and a little bit of kindness can go a long way. Kindness can cause a chain reaction, and soon enough, they will start to be kinder, too, and soon enough, the production is a little bit better and together. Also, in the real world, there are going to be people you just really can’t stand, but if you practice with a diva, you can learn to be kind to any kind of person.

I have been in multiple productions where a diva will spread lies around to other cast mates just to cause some drama. Talking bad about them only makes you equal with them, but if you don’t, it shows how mature and professional you are. In everyday life, you encounter those people that upset you so much, you stoop down to their level, but by practicing to never talk behind a divas back, you will eventually grow a mature attitude that will know that “payback” is never an option.

Lastly, if you step back from talking about all of diva’s flaws, you will see a hard worker who has worked very hard to get where they are today. This teaches you that in life, things just don’t get handed to you, you have to work for them. They motivate you to try harder to succeed, to not waste time gossiping about how you didn’t get a role, but to grow stronger from it and to work harder for the next one.

Overall, just don’t talk bad about someone who has done something wrong. By doing this, you practice kindness, matureness, and you can learn about hard work. Not to mention you wouldn’t want anyone else talking bad about you when you aren’t there. If you practice not talking bad about a diva, you learn not to talk bad about anyone.
