I Believe
I believe life is like a video game. Now this may sound lame, but hear me out and you might just find yourself agreeing. Even if you aren’t a video games kind of person these points, I feel, will still apply.
It is a waste of time being angry, because you can always reset the level and try again. You may find trials in life just as you would in a video game. The difficulty of these trials can range anywhere from absurdly easy to insurmountably hard. Finding yourself at the bitter end of an endeavor that you have put all of your effort into, just to fail and go all the back to square one is just the worst. Nobody wants to have to start over and being forced to do so will make you want to go straight to a place of anger. Believe me I’ve been there before; getting angered easily at the thought off all of your hard work going down the drain. However, I believe there is no point to this anger and it is a big time waster. Why waste time being angry when that time can be spent doing things that will make your time worth its length? You could go back and try again in the time it takes to be angry, and if it is something you can’t just jump right back into you can figure out what you did wrong and fix it for next time.
You meet all kinds of people throughout life. Throughout your life you are going to meet all different types of people from all different places and backgrounds. Much like how in video games you can play with random people from all over the country; and sometimes even world; who you are going to converse and work together with. The key social skills have all the same principles. All the people you meet can and more likely than not will have some effect; small or large; on the way you go through life. This effect may not always be positive however. Negative people do exist and you will meet your fair share in life. The advice and actions of these people should be disregarded, whereas the those of the positive people can be learned from and adapted to fit your own mentality.
Always encourage yourself and others. To get through a level or objective you and your teammates must have the right attitude going into it. That is exactly what you need get through whatever undertaking you hope to conquer. Having the right attitude is half the battle when it comes to doing what you want to do. If you believe you can do something you will be able to do it. It’s not just about yourself though. The people you are working with must be in the right mindset as well. That is where you come in. You have to encourage your team to work to the best of their ability so that you can have the proper help you need. You can only do so much to raise the morale of teammates however, the rest they will have to do on their own. It is impossible to help someone who doesn’t want to help themselves.
Cooperation is one of the keys to success. Not only do you have to be able to encourage your teammates you have to be able to cooperate with them. In a level of a video game to the best way to beat it is to coordinate a plan beforehand and then play it out after. This is the same in the real world. Cooperation with teammates will help you to better handle the task at hand more efficiently and effortlessly. The better you cooperate the more likely you are to succeed.
Most importantly just try to have fun. More than anything the point of games is just to have fun. That is the belief you stick by everyday of your life. Having fun is really the true reason to do anything. If you are doing something that is not even a little bit of fun for you, you shouldn’t be doing it. Doing something that isn’t even remotely fun for you that is when you should realize that it is just not worth doing.
I truly believe that these similarities can not be ignored. In fact, they should be embraced. If you live your life on some of the same principles as a video game. I guarantee that you will live a happier life if you live along these principles.
