Have you ever wondered what it would be like to travel to another country? Do you love the exploring nature?
Come with the Spanish department to Costa Rica in June 2020! In Costa Rica, you will enjoy beautiful tropical beaches, grand adventures to volcanoes and cloud forests, interact with the wonders of nature, all while experiencing culture through the food, people and a visit to a local school.
You do NOT have to be enrolled in Spanish classes to come, as our tour guides will be bi-lingual.
For more information, stop and talk to one of the Spanish teachers and attend our information meeting on Tuesday, December 18th at 6:30 at COCALICO High School in room 301. Yes, at Cocalico high school. We travel together with three other schools, so Mrs. Warfel and the other school chaperones will be present at the joint meeting.
The sooner you enroll, the cheaper it is and the first deadline is approaching soon. Hope to see you there!

This year Student Council is doing a new event called a sing-a-thon to help raise money for the Christmas charity! There will be four different duet groups of teachers at each lunch period. Your job is to put your money in the duet bucket you want to see sing live on Ephrata Am! The bucket with the most money wins. Starting this Friday, swing by the table at lunch and drop your money in the teacher duet group you wish to sing a truly embarrassing Christmas song! Bidding ends next Wednesday!
-----------------------------
Person 1 : Are you ready?
Person 2 : For what?
Person 1: FOR DOUGHNUTS OF COURSE!!!
Person 2: OOOH that’s right. Student Council is running the annual Christmas Charity homeroom competition this year.
Person 1: The homeroom that raises the most money will get a doughnut party that Santa would be sorry to miss.
Person 2: What’s so good about just getting doughnuts?
Peron 1: Hold on its not just doughnuts, you can possibly have it all. Hot Chocolate, milk, OJ, fruit, bagels, Christmas cookies. You name it you got it! And all of that happens on Dec 21st the day you leave for break. So, what a great way to end the year before Christmas break than with a spread the likes of Buddy the Elf has NEVER seen!
Person 2: Does second place get anything?
Person 1: Yuppers! The homeroom that gets second place will get a regular donut party….. so just donuts…. Which is still pretty cool. And those donuts will also be there on Dec 21st before you leave for break.
Person 2: Does third place get anything?
Person1: The rumor is there homeroom gets high fives from Mr. Marzock on Dec 21st
Person 2: That prize sounds better than the rest.
Person 1: So don’t be a cotton headed ninny muggings and help out some local Ephrata families this holiday season.
Person 2: Every little bit counts.
Person 1: That is pretty sweet
Person 2: Sweeter than a candy cane.
Person 1: So talk to your homeroom teacher to see how you can spread Christmas cheer for all the world to hear, this holiday season!

Person 1: I hope everyone brought some extra money with them today because this week is the week Student Council is playing Christmas music between each class period.
Person 2: well, why did they need to bring their money?
Person 1: glad you asked... because these aren’t your normal Christmas songs. These are some of the worst songs you’ve ever heard and will hope to never hear again.
Person 2: ohhhhhhh. Gotcha. So the money is to....
Person 1: make the music stop. There will be a student council member between each class hanging out in the main lobby. If we reach our goal of the day, the music will stop.
Person 2: what’s today’s goal?
Person 1: $50.00. so students, teachers, administrators, staff, anyone and everyone in this building, help us make the music stop!
Person 2: so we shall leave you with this gem. Have a great Day Ephrata.
