What is Fortnite? It's a multi person survivor game released in 2017, and it is still in the process of being developed. One BIG topic surrounding this game is its addictiveness. Studies suggest some marriages are even falling apart because all people do is play Fortnite. It somehow gets people to play 24/7 if possible, and there are so many sounds involved in the game play, it can be compared to the release of a dopamine type reward system in your brain. Should Fortnite stick around, or can it stay?
Expect Epic Games to push their world enough to drop season seven of Fortnite even though season 6 was just released. But as the Christmas season gets underway, can this game handle the competition? It has come a long way in a short amount of time. In fact, it is the 2nd most popular game as of October 2018, just behind League of Legends, but will Fortnite die to Black Ops Black out? I predict Fortnite will die some day. Even the games creators predict that games can die if the core mechanics change enough to force players to quit and play Blackout. So the game's makers need to be very careful. If they don't listen to their player base, and watch what they change, it could lead to the mega hits early death, justified or not.
