Want to be heard and make in difference in our school? Student Council is the place for you!
Student Council is a leadership club that ties the administration of our school to the student body. Students participating in student council work hard to make sure issues and concerns brought up about the school are fixed. Being in this organization looks good on scholarships and resumes in the future.
Student Council also sponsors several activities throughout the school year. One of their main organization they sponsor is our school’s blood drive. On Thursday, Nov. 8, our school will be holding the annual blood drive in the auxiliary gym. Student Council’s goal is to collect 85 pints of blood to help make a difference. There are still limited spots available to donate. If you are interested contact Lexi or Paige Jeffryes as soon as possible.
Along with the blood drive, Student Council also sponsors winter formal, dodgeball tournaments, and Iron Man volleyball. Last year, they also paired with Circle of Friends and helped coordinate activities for the students at our school with special needs.
So how do you get into student council? You must apply by filling out a google form answering questions about leadership. After you submit your application, the teachers will vote on who will get in based on classroom behavior and your answers on your application.
Freshman are also able to apply to become part of student council. The application opens on Wednesday, Oct. 31 and is due by Friday, Nov. 2. If you have any questions about Student Council talk to Mrs. Wallin or someone you know that is in student council.
If you get accepted into Student council, you must help with the activities sponsored by student council and attend the meetings regularly to obtain your spot.
