The EHS Mini-THON club is having a Halloween costume contest on October 31st. The contest will consist of three categories: Individual, Duo, and Group costumes and there will be a 1st place winner for each. You can get an application from your homeroom teacher or from Mrs. Socie in room 317 or Mr. Martin in room 210. The $2 entry fee per person and application for the contest are due on October 30th to Mrs. Socie or Mr. Martin.

A Lion Air Boeing 737 passenger plane with 189 people on board has crashed into the sea shortly after taking off from the Indonesian capital, Jakarta. Flight JT 610 was headed for Pangkal Pinang, in the Bangka Belitung Islands, when it lost contact. Rescuers have recovered some remains and there is no sign of survivors. The cause of the crash, involving a new plane in operation since August, remains unclear. Lion Air is Indonesia's largest low-cost carrier. The incident is reported to be the first major accident involving a Boeing 737 Max - an updated version of the 737.

The lives of two Warwick high school students were claimed after an elderly woman who was reported to have been driving recklessly collided with their car outside of the school. Five people were taken to the hospital that were injured during the accident, with a total of eight cars involved. Ephrata students and faculty are encouraged to wear red tomorrow to show our support for Warwick's students, staff, and community members.

In sports results, girls soccer advanced to the semi final rounds of districts with a 2-1 victory. Both goals were scored by Maddie Root in the 15th and 39th minutes. They advance to play top seeded Central Dauphin on Tuesday.

On Monday Nov. 5th, Conestoga Valley High School will be hosting their 45th Annual College Night from 6-8pm. There will be over 200 colleges, trade, nursing, technical and business schools represented. In addition to the schools, there will also be seminars on how to choose a college, and financial aid. This event is perfect for freshmen, sophomores and juniors as it’s never too early to start planning. Information booklets are available in the Counseling Office.
Be sure to tell your parents and add this event to your calendar…Nov. 5th, the CV College Fair. If you have any questions, see your counselor asap.
