This week for art club, we did leaf prints. For this you will need: paper, paint, crayons, and leaves! So first you set up your paper, and lightly paint leaves. Then you press the painted leaves onto the paper to create the print. You don’t want to use too much paint because you want to see all the lines and texture of the leaf. Once you paint on as many leaves as you want and it’s dry, lay the paper on top of a layer of leaves (non painted ones). This is done because next, you run a crayon over the paper (not on top of the paint!) and it creates a relief type of effect. When you run the crayon over the leaf under the paper, all the bumps and parts that stick up on the leaf catch the crayon and leave the texture of the leaf on the paper.
