The EHS Mini-THON club is having a Halloween costume contest on October 31st. The contest will consist of three categories: Individual, Duo, and Group costumes and there will be a 1st place winner for each. You can get an application from your homeroom teacher or from Mrs. Socie in room 317 or Mr. Martin in room 210. The $2 entry fee per person and application for the contest are due on October 30th to Mrs. Socie or Mr. Martin.

There is a dress Code for the CTC Field Trips this week.
You will be required to wear long pants and closed toed shoes to tour the CTC. You will not be allowed on the field trip if you are not wearing long pants and closed toed shoes!!

Storm Willa is moving inland after it made landfall on Mexico's Pacific coast. Willa has rapidly weakened but torrential rains are falling over west-central Mexico. The US National Hurricane Center has warned of potentially life-threatening flash flooding and landslides. It also warned of large waves and rough surf conditions on the coast of the states of Sinaloa and Nayarit and of continued strong winds.
At least one winning ticket has been reported, in South Carolina, for the largest lottery jackpot in US history. The winner will take home a whopping $1.6 billion in the Mega Millions draw. Lottery officials in South Carolina said one ticket with all six winning numbers had been sold in the state. The competition, which saw 15 "second-tier" tickets scoop about $1 million each, had people lining up at service stations and stores nationwide.
On this day in 1901, a 63-year-old schoolteacher named Annie Edson Taylor became the first person to take the plunge over Niagara Falls in a barrel.
2005 : Civil rights activist Rosa Parks died of natural causes at the age of 92. Her refusal to give up her seat on a bus in Montgomery, Alabama, in 1955 triggered a bus boycott that would mark the start of the modern civil rights movement.

In sports results, the boys soccer team wasn't able to pull off a win visiting at Warwick, but the girls soccer team came out victorious against Chambersburg with a 3-1 win!

Hey Dodge Ball participants. Forms are due today by the end of school. You will need your forms and the money you collected. Forms should be turned into Mr. Geyer in room 129. The tournament will be held at the Ephrata Senior High School on November 9th and 10th.

On Monday Nov. 5th, Conestoga Valley High School will be hosting their 45th Annual College Night from 6-8pm. There will be over 200 colleges, trade, nursing, technical and business schools represented. In addition to the schools, there will also be seminars on how to choose a college, and financial aid. This event is perfect for freshmen, sophomores and juniors as it’s never too early to start planning. Information booklets are available in the Counseling Office.
Be sure to tell your parents and add this event to your calendar…Nov. 5th, the CV College Fair. If you have any questions, see your counselor asap.
