On Saturday, Oct. 20, at the Lutjelusche cross country course, Sammy's Superheroes hosted a 5k run to raise awareness for childhood cancer. There were about 130 people registered to run with teams and individually. The Sammy’s Superheroes foundation raised a little over $8,000 that will go towards childhood cancer research. The event was followed by a “beer and brat” party with live music, providing an opportunity for people to relax and socialize after running up and down hills in the chilly wind.
