Paranorman, a children's “horror” film, was released on 17 Aug 2012. It is still many people’s favorite go-to Halloween movie. This film is perfect for people who enjoy non-horror horror movies. I for one am a big fan of this film. I feel as if this movie is very well done and it is easy to tell how much hard work was put into this animation. The storyline is about Norman, a young boy with a special gift. He is able to speak with the dead and because of this his family and others do not accept him. Long ago there was someone just like Norman, however, the townspeople did not react well and executed the child. The child then cursed the town leaving Norman to put the chaos and curse to rest.
The ending of the film is heartwarming and may tug on the heartstrings a bit however it does teach you a very good life lesson. One of my favorite things about this film, besides the storyline, is the animation. The animation is so well done and very aesthetically pleasing. Once again it is very obvious how much hard work was put into this film. I strongly recommend including Paranorman in your Halloween movie marathon!
