Boys tennis did a fantastic job at conference. They played hard against the other teams and finished third out of six. Most of the players on the team got metals. Coach Bethune feels that this meet gave them a huge boost in preparing for state. Boys state tennis is Thursday and Friday, Oct. 11 and 12, in Omaha.
Coach Bethune feels that the hard week of practice really showed in the boys’ performances at conference.
The tennis team’s top singles player, junior Adam Kamrath from Scotus Central Catholic, got second overall in the meet. Adam feels confident about how he preformed. He said, “I worked on not over hitting and making as many errors.” He waited for his opponent to make an error and then used his error as an advantage for the dual.
Adam was surprised by the result in his third match. Adam played against someone from North Platte and beat him 8-3. “North Platte is a really good and tough team to beat.” Adam said. Adam finished the day with a score of 4-1.
The number one and number two doubles teams both placed fourth overall.
Best of luck goes out to the boys competing at state!
