"The golden ticket... to reach it, just follow this path,
and it will be yours at long last.
Follow it," they said, "and not the thickness of your head."
But I couldn't, I wasn't capable,
for my thoughts could never be tamable.
I defended myself, raised the bar,
looking in the mirror I saw a star.
The halo over my head said "keep going,
even if others are picky and controlling.
The standard is set, which you have not met;
but if you give in and follow,
your life's purpose will be forever hollow."
And, so it turned out my heart was right,
even if others thought "not quite."
I ripped the tape off from my lips,
and heard my voice speak heavenly bliss,
words which people needed to hear,
but since I was different - no one cared to come near...
But as neglected and lonely as I felt,
my heart would not do anything but melt...
for I was fulfilling my purpose - which society blurred,
but I knew, very well, that I was changing the world.
