We met each other in a storm,
and held on tight for the sake of warmth.
You were my angel from up above,
and we were like sisters - connected through love.
We grew up together, hand-in-hand,
and lifted each other up when we were too weak to stand.
We helped one another, we taught one another,
but I never saw what lied under your covers...
We laughed, we played,
we cried, but we stayed.
As a united front, we made do,
but you were slowly changing - while I never knew.
We would disagree and have fights,
we would argue - but it was out right.
For you were like my sister, not just a friend,
and you promised you'd stay right until the very end.
But, for some reason, you started to drift away.
It was irreversible! Nothing I could do or say!
In the blink of an eye, you were a stranger;
and when you walked past me, I felt nothing but anger.
I cried for you, I begged in tears,
for the girl I have loved all of these years.
Right from the very start,
you promised me you'd never part;
but now my words cannot go through...
what on earth happened to you?
