Girl’s Golf Season Coming to a Close

Girl’s golf headed to the GNAC Conference tournament in Hastings on Friday, Sept. 28. Hastings, McCook, North Platte, Scottsbluff, and Columbus were all present to compete. Leading the Discoverers was Aspen Luebbe, who placed 5th overall and 1st for Columbus. Luebbe shot an 81.
Ashley Warner came in 2nd for Columbus shooting a 96. Third place for the Discoverers was taken by Amber Sanne. The team shot a 373 all together.
The following Monday (Oct. 1), the girls headed to Class A Districts at the Elks Country Club here in Columbus. Bellevue East, Grand Island, Gretna, Lincoln North Star, Millard North, Millard South, North Platte and Columbus partook in the tournament.
Aspen Luebbe took 1st place overall as well as 1st place for Columbus. Luebbe shot a 75. Ashley Warner finished strong with a score of 92.
Both Warner and Luebbe qualified to compete at the state tournament on Monday, Oct 8 and Tuesday Oct. 9.
