Thinking about a career in the healthcare field? On Friday October 12th, we will be going to HACC's Lancaster Campus for Health Careers Exploration Day. This is a great opportunity to learn about all the career opportunities available in the healthcare field. Come to the Counseling Office to pick up more information and permission slip. Permission slips are due back Thursday September 27th.

The US has imposed sanctions on the Chinese military over its purchasing of Russian military jets and surface-to-air missiles. It says such purchases contravene US sanctions on Moscow introduced over Russian actions in Ukraine and alleged interference in US politics. China recently bought 10 Russian Su-35 fighter jets and S-400 missiles. Beijing has not joined in the sanctions imposed on Moscow by the US and its Western allies since 2014.
Local reports say five people, have been injured in a shooting in the city of Syracuse in the state of New York. According to witnesses, a family had gathered to celebrate the life of a relative who had recently died when the shooting occurred on Thursday. The media reports police later said the shots had come from across the street, hitting the lawn where the victims had gathered for the memorial.
In 1792 the Legislative Assembly voted to abolish the monarchy and establish the First Republic. The measure came one year after King Louis XVI reluctantly approved a new constitution that stripped him of much of his power.
Fun fact of the day : Moon flowers actually bloom in response to the moon.

In sports results, tennis lost 6-1 vs Warwick, Volleyball lost 3 games to 0 vs E town, field hockey lost 7-0 at Cedar Crest, and boys soccer won 2-1 vs McCaskey.

Hey Dodge Ball fans, you’re invited to play in the 15th annual Ephrata Dodge Ball Tournament on Friday and Saturday, November 9th & 10th at the Ephrata High School. Proceeds from this event will help fight Juvenile Diabetes.
You can download information, and a registration form at www.dodgeballfordiabetes.com, you can find a link to that website on ephratamounts.com, or see Mr. Geyer in homeroom 129 for registration information. Deadline for entry is October 24th, each team is responsible for raising at least $126 in donations per team, with a 3 game guarantee. Prizes will be awarded to teams for raising more money. So get your team donations in for this year’s Senior Circuit bracket.
