Donald Trump has reportedly stated that the if the upcoming meetings with Kim Jong Un appear to be unproductive, he intends to ‘walk out’ of the negotiations. He has stated that he intends to maintain maximum pressure on North Korea to disarm themselves of their nuclear weapons, probably the largest foreign policy goal of the current administration. Additionally, Trump confirmed that he had sent CIA Director Mike Pompeo to meet Kim Jong Un in a secret meeting to begin dialogue with the regime.
On This day in history, a man named John J. McDermott won the first-ever Boston marathon with a time of around two hours and fifty-five minutes in 1897. Originally, the race was 24 miles instead of 26, but the race was extended in 1908 to fit Olympic standards. An Interesting fact- women were not allowed to enter the race until 1972, but in 1966 Roberta Gibb became the first woman to run the Marathon when she hid in the bushes at the starting line. Girl power!
