Sitting there in silence
Pictures flash before your eyes,
old memories haunting you.
Hundreds of them both good and bad
Happy or Sad —it doesn’t matter what
One emotion appears over and over:
Loneliness.
It is carried in every memory.
Your friends leave you when you need them most
The ‘Three Amigos’ split.
Suddenly three becomes two,
Then two becomes one.
You don’t know what you’ve done.
Loneliness: deserted and desolate.
The person you love leaves you.
“For better or for worse,” that’s what we said.
I guess you lied.
The love you two shared diminished
by tragedy and loss.
You clutch your chest in hopes of mending your heart.
Loneliness: a hole in your heart, longing for a lost love.
You stand in the middle of a crowd,
yet you’ve never felt so alone.
On a busy city corner
Thousands of people pass by,
not one takes the time to understand you.
You frantically search for a friendly face,
and find none.
Loneliness: lost and forsaken.
Loneliness: that melancholy feeling inside.
You hate it, you try to run and hide.
It is hopeless.
like fighting a rip current,
It won’t make a difference.
Try as you will,
people are who they are,
they cheat and they lie.
There’s no changing them.
In the end, like everyone else,
you grow tired of it
And give in.
Engulfed in Loneliness
you drowned in your sorrows.
