The theatre ensemble class went on a class trip to The Bucks County Playhouse and participated in the Student Theatre Festival. The class presented two 20 minute segments from their upcoming show The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee. The class has been working on this show since December and was ecstatic to be able to present some of the show at this festival. When the students arrived to the festival, they participated in two one hour workshops, which included Technical Theatre, Acting, Tap/Jazz, and Swing Dance. Then, they performed for adjudicators and other participating schools, and had a chance to watch the other schools perform their acts. At the end of the day, the performers were adjudicated by three judges. Middletown High School North came home with three awards. Kyle Kennedy received Best Student Director, Lily Richichi received Best Actress, and Jillian Pujols received Best Cameo Appearance. It was a good day for all who were involved.
