There's a halo over her head,
but she can't see it.
She looks up and sees the world,
the world she doesn't belong in.
She envies others, and wishes for fortunes,
she feels empty inside - she has nothing to hide...
Day after day she walks around,
seeing all the beauty life has to offer.
She wonders how amazing it would be,
to see herself the way others do.
She wants to be happy,
she wants to feel secure,
but she feels she is missing something critical.
She feels mundane, she feels useless,
she underestimates what she has to offer.
But one day, she asks herself "Why?"
"What is the missing piece in my mirror?"
"What is making my reflection sub-par?"
Then she realized, it was only her.
She has so much to give to the world,
so much love and passion to fill the air and people's hearts.
What she is capable of has never been seen before,
and that is why she looks at others for foundation.
But she is special, her existence creates a new outline,
a new way for people to live.
Now, she takes the gifts the world gives her,
and is thankful for all that she has.
But the truth of it all is that she'll never get all she deserves.
The world is behind her, lacking her beauty,
but now she sees her halo at last.
And when she looks in the mirror,
after all this time,
she realizes how worthy she is.
