Continuing the tradition here at Farmington Senior High School called staff spotlight, I decided to interview the Tech Director, Andrew White (aka my father).

Q: As a professional here at Farmington Senior High School, why do most of the students call you Andy instead of Mr.White?

A: Because most of the kids who call me Andy know me better outside of the school environment.

Q: How do these students know you better outside of school?

A: I have a daughter who is a junior at this school, (aka me) so it has allowed me be around a lot of the students for many years.

Q: What do you do here at the school?

A: I am in charge of installing and maintaining all technology in the district which includes: chromebooks, computers, wireless and wired networks, the phone intercom system, content filtering, blocking free movie sites that teachers request, and firewalls.

Q: Do you work at all the schools in the Farmington School District?

A: Yes

Q: How many employees work in your tech department, and how many devices do you support?

A: I have four employees that support over 4,000 chromebooks, over 600 desktops, 300 access points, 45 network switches, 40 wireless bus camera systems, 50 copiers, several hundred printers, 500 phones, over 100 smart boards, 400 projectors, the interactive hall of fame televisions, the video boards, support Knight Vision Studios, and many software pakages.

*Side note for all the teachers in the Farmington School District. Please be patient when filling out work forms because dangggg that’s a lot of stuff to do for four people.

Q: What do you like to do in your free time?

A: I run my daughters around everywhere (aka me again) and try to keep up my clash royale account.
