This Spring, the Farmington High School Theatre Guild will be putting on the well-known production of Steel Magnolias. Steel Magnolias is a tale of six women who must all deal with a tragedy in their own humorous ways. Though the show will not take place until March, you can be assured that the cast and crew are already well into their numerous preparations. The casting, which was released in December of 2017, is as follows:

I reached out to Emma Childress, AKA Clairee Belcher, for more information. “I really love the production and everyone involved” she says. “Mrs. Mays-Neilson chose a wonderful cast who, I’m sure, will make the experience wonderful for everyone involved.” This cast is already hard at work, practicing every week night for two hours and having the occasional work day for sets and props on weekends. Right now they are working on blocking and hitting their marks on the stage at Truman Elementary, where their production will take place. “Truman is cooperating so well with us for our stage time. We are working very hard and putting in lots of hours to make this production the best it can be” states Childress.
