Top Songs Then and Now

"There’s nothing holding me back” - Do you recognize this song? You along with many others may find yourself humming along to songs such as, “ There’s Nothing Holding Me Back” by Shawn Mendes and many other pop tunes that have gained popularity over the years.

As 2017 comes to an end, many artists  fought their way to the top of the charts with new songs such as, “ That’s What I Like” by Bruno Mars, and “ Thunder” by Imagine Dragons.  Artists have also gone solo, including  members of One Direction and Camila Cabello from Fifth Harmony. They all released songs and albums that have grown very popular over the course of a year, and will continue to push further as they jump into 2018.

From July of 2017, Top 10 Songs News suggests that “ Shape of You” sung by Ed Sheeran came in at number nine, while “ That’s What I Like” by Bruno Mars came in at number 6. “Shape of You” was described to be, “ a very alluring pop song that can steal your heartbeats,” according to Top 10 Songs News. The article also described Bruno Mars’ song, “ That’s What I Like”  as an " attractive and eye catchy pop song.”

From the most recent Top 10 Chart, according to Billboard, Ed Sheeran came in first with Bruno Mars at number three.  

Other songs that have became popular towards the end of 2017 included, “ Despacito” by Luis Fonsi ft Daddy Yankee at number two, “ Believer” by Imagine Dragons at number nine and, “ Say You Won’t Let Go” by James Arthur at number eleven.
