W8 2 TXT, a powerful message passed on by Steve and Jacy. An awful accident occurred from a single mistake, Jacy had lost everything. After coming from her senior college graduation, around 2:00, a vehicle crashed into her car. Her parents who were driving died in the accident. A volunteer paramedic saved her life, but she fell into a coma. That same night, Steve (Jacy's college sweetheart) went back home to New York. He called and texted Jacy but she would not pick up. Steve got a call concerning Jacy and was told she was in the hospital. Through the coma, Steve stayed by Jacy's side. The expectation for Jacy to live through it was very low, but grew with every passing day. During the months of the coma, Jacy's brother, who was in a separate car that fateful night, had to organize and take care of both of the parents funerals and Jacy. When Jacy woke up 2-3 months after the incident, she had no mobility in her left arm and down. The reason for the accident was because a 17 year old highschool boy was TEXTING and driving and stopped too late at a red light. During that moment, an 18 wheeler had to swerve out of the way and hit Jacy's car, 45 minutes away from her home. The 17 year old highschooler left the scene with some scratches and bruises and was charged with nothing because at the time there was no law against texting and driving. But there is now. Don’t text and drive for your safety, AND more so for others.
