On October 24th, the Egg Harbor Township High School Communications Academy had the pleasure of interviewing newly named Superintendent, Dr. Kimberly Gruccio. While new to the position, Dr. Gruccio is a long time member of administration joining the school district in 2001.  

Dr. Gruccio began by offering a few words of advice to those interested in pursuing opportunities in the education field.  “My advice would be, start sooner than later. Start finding a role model” Dr. Gruccio stated. “If you want to be a teacher, sit and talk with the teachers, see what it’s about.”  

Dr. Gruccio is not short on goals for her mission for the school district.  “We are always looking to improve student achievement, and to meeting student needs, socially and emotionally.”

“[I want] to improve the climate and cultures that we have in our school and our community connections.”

However, it does not stop there. Dr. Gruccio has her own tasks she is taking personally. “My personal goal is to get out into the schools meet with students...talk with students, that’s a great thing...also build relationships with the parents and the community.”

It was an honor interviewing the Egg Harbor Township School District Superintendent. We wish the best of luck to Dr. Gruccio and the rest of the school board, and hopefully this is the first of many encounters the Egg Harbor Township High School Communications Academy has with the school board.
