Egg Harbor Township New Jersey has a local organization that helps raise money for the district’s schools. The organization, Community Partnership for Egg Harbor Township Schools, Inc. formed in December 2005, and raises funds for extracurricular activities, capital trips, instructional technology, and academic enhancement.
The president, Chip Donovan, is a former Egg Harbor Township School graduate and a financial planner with UBS. To raise the funds that the organization needs, the organization hosts events and fundraisers that the community can take part in such as a Cash Raffle. The Cash Raffle takes place in Somers Point New Jersey.
Throughout years of endless fundraisers, there must be one that appeals the the public the most. “ We’ve had a lot of success with our Designer Bag Bingos…” Executive Director Ellen Gregory said. “All of our fundraisers seem to attract different crowds of people,” she continued.
Some other events that Community Partnership of Egg Harbor Township hosts include a Dice & Dine fundraiser and a Wine testing and Garden party which both take place in Atlantic County.
There are also many ways to help through donations. “ .. we accept Flat Donations, Matching Funds, Planned Giving donations ( through wills or bequests)...” she said. Gregory continued to explain the locations for donations and other places around the district where people can help donate what they can.
So far, the Community Partnership raised $40,000 for Fernwood Middle School and Davenport Elementary School. The organization donated $2,000 to Eagle Academy for a new shed that the students will be building. Other funds have been put towards new Chromebooks and also filled empty spots in charging carts district wide. Visit www.partners4ehtschools.org for more information.
