Book reviews from a book freak- The Outsiders by S.E. Hinton

The Outsiders, by S.E. Hinton, is a novel about what it is like to be a teenager in a world where you can never be accepted for being yourself. In the novel, Ponyboy Curtis is a member of a street gang called the Greasers, who are tormented by a rival gang known as the Socs.

After Ponyboy leaves his home, following a fight with his older brother, a confrontation between Ponyboy, his friend Johnny, and a group of Socs leads to a death, and Ponyboy and Johnny must decide what they will do next.

As you continue the story, you follow Ponyboy and Johnny as they cope with the consequences of their actions and decide the kind of people they want to be.

I enjoyed reading this book and watching the movie that was made based on it, and I would recommend it to anyone who enjoys reading. I would tell them to give this book a try, and even if you are not a fan of reading, you may still find some enjoyment in watching the movie.

Overall, it’s  a great story that I have enjoyed several times over again. The characters are realistic, and are easy to relate to, proving that struggles of today are not much different from those of 1965.
