At first, the listener may be confused. Tay Zonday starts off with the two words which he repeats over a hundred times throughout the song, “Chocolate Rain”. What does Chocolate Rain actually mean? Even though no listener understands what is being said, Tay’s deep bass vocals put people in a trance-like state. A person who might not even enjoy the song will sing the words Chocolate Rain mimicking Tay’s voice.

The meaning of Chocolate Rain is one that has been discussed ever since the release of it back in 2007 and there is still not a defined moral or meaning behind the lyrics. Maybe that’s why I give it a 4.5 out of 5 stars. I can listen to it and still question what it actually means, 10 years later.
