South is hosting its third year of Made Outreach Research Performances [MORP] since it first started in 2015. MORP is a gallery walk ,as well as a commemoration of projects made by students. All of the students signed up for this event, which consist of mostly seniors and some juniors, can put their creations on display while being able to observe others’ works. On June 6 from 6 – 8 p.m., MORP is held in the main gym, and everyone in the community is welcome.
“It’s an academic prom celebrating the things that go under the radar at schools,” Walter Niedermyer, a science teacher at South, said.
MORP was founded by Niedermyer when the All City Science Fair departed after six years. Niedermyer wanted students to experience and have a chance to demonstrate their abilities through this celebration.
“It is a way for us to celebrate the academic success in students in all disciplines. There will be students there from the theater department, from culinary, from english from science and many others,” Dottie Knecht, the environmental systems and studies teacher, said.
From drama to science, this event showcases the different subject matters students at South made or participated in.
