Friends, a sitcom that aired from 1994-2004, is a show that everyone should watch. The series features six friends as they navigate their every day lives. Here are some reasons why you should watch this show:

1.) The Characters

Friends features some of the most iconic television characters of all time. Rachel Green is a young woman who leaves her privileged life in order to avoid getting married. She must find a job and pay bills, which she has never done before. Rachel moves in with her best friend from high school, Monica Gellar. Monica is a chef, who is immensely competitive, especially with her brother Ross. Ross Gellar is a paleontologist who has been in love with Rachel since High School. Chandler Bing and Joey Tribbiani live across the hall from the girls. Chandler is Ross's wise cracking, former college roommate. Joey is a dim-witted actor that attracts many women. The final friend is Phoebe Buffay. She is a masseuse, who plays guitar, and doesn't eat meat. These six make the plot worth watching, along with a slew of boyfriends, girlfriends, baristas, and other phenomenal characters.

2.) The Camaraderie 

The six friends stick together through everything. They support and build each other up through new jobs, marriages, babies, and so many other scenarios. Much like friends in real life, there are arguments, but the group always manages to resolve their issues, as they know that they need each other.

3.) The Comedy

Friends is a sitcom, so of course it is funny. Chandler is known for picking on other characters, and his remarks fuel laughter. For example, in one episode, Ross goes tanning and ends up extremely dark. He tells Chandler, "I went to the tanning place that your wife suggested," to which Chandler replied, "Was that place the sun?" If that does not get you to crack a smile, then perhaps Phoebe's song "Smelly Cat" will.

4.) The Plot

Friends is a wonderful story. Though it is a sitcom, it has a central plot line that leads the characters through their lives. At the start of the series, the six are in their 20s, and live carefree. As the show progresses, they all grow together and pass milestones. The plot is interesting and touching.
