Illegal immigration seems to keep nagging at the American population. In the 2016 election, the issue was greatly debated. Immigration is the factor behind President Trump's famous wall plan.
So, what should the government do about illegal immigration?
Conservatives believe that there needs to be a crack down on illegal immigrants. Those who don't take the proper legal process should not be permitted into our country. These illegals receive government benefits, even though they aren't even citizens. There is a long waiting list for people who wish to legally live in America. These immigrants are taking jobs away from deserving citizens, which is an issue because our unemployment rates are high. Not only this, but often illegal immigrants are dangerous, and are a threat to our country.
Liberals believe that the immigrants are okay to stay. America was founded on the fundamental that we are a melting pot. We need new cultures to help us remain a country with a little bit of everything. Many of the undocumented immigrants aren't border hoppers. They are simply people who came to America with some sort of legal document (visa, green card, etc.) that expired. We can not prevent them from coming in, since they are already here. Since they were legally permitted to come in the first place, then they aren't dangerous people. Lastly, the jobs that these immigrants take are those that the American people don't want, like those in agriculture that requires long hours.
